Once you have at least one podcast episode, submitting a podcast to Spotify is the next step. There are several podcast platforms which you can have your podcast connected to and Spotify is one of the fastest growing, so you want to make sure you are on there. Below, we will look at how to connect your podcast RSS feed to Spotify.
Note: It’s important that before doing any of the below steps, make sure you have at least one podcast episode uploaded into Simplecast.
Your URL will look similar to: https://rss.simplecast.com/podcasts/3518293211/rss.
I use Simplecast as my podcast host, so you URL may look slightly different but for the most part, it should be similar.
Note: If you’re still using Simplecast in Trial mode, you will need to add a debit/credit card before your RSS feed will be enabled for use. Remember, you’ll also need to have at least one episode published.
Now for the fun part, submitting a podcast to Spotify so that you can take advantage of one of the fastest growing podcast platforms.
For some reason, not all podcast host allow you to submit your podcast to Spotify but Simplecast does.
Fill out this form so that Simplecast can submit your podcast feed to Spotify for approval.
Expect between 2-6 days before your podcast is launched on Spotify. The Simplecast team will email you once it’s submitted and again once it’s live. They will soon have the Spotify podcast submission form built the dashboard, but for now, use the above form.
Once your podcast is added to Spotify, you want to make sure that any graphics you have made are updated with the Spotify logo so your potential listeners know they can find it there. You can see an example of this to the right of this page if you are on a desktop, or below if you are on mobile.
